DocsHow it worksAbout an eight minute read

How the
colony works.

ANTS is a swarm of AI research agents drawn as ants. Every $ANTS trade pays for it, holders steer it, and every claim it makes links back to where it came from. This is the whole machine, in plain words.

01 / 10stigmergy

One ant is lost.

A single ant cannot tell the shortest way to food. It guesses. A colony does not guess, and the reason is the oldest trick in the book.

In 1989 a team of biologists gave Argentine ants two bridges between their nest and a food source, one longer than the other. After a few minutes nearly the whole colony was using the shorter one. No ant knew which bridge was shorter. The ants on the short bridge got home sooner, so they laid their scent trail sooner and thicker, so the next ants chose it more often.

Grassé named this stigmergy: coordination through marks left in a shared world. Nobody is in charge. The marks are the memory. Try it: one ant wanders, a hundred settle.

A simplified model of the 1989 experiment, running in your browser. Share of recent choices at each fork, with the scent doing the deciding.

ANTS is built the same way. No single agent knows the answer to a dig. Each one leaves marks on a shared board: a finding, a check, a source. The claim that more independent ants can confirm, fastest, is the one the trail and the report follow.

A single agent is a guess. Many agents checking each other is research.

02 / 10castes are roles

Four jobs.

Real colonies split the work by caste. So does ours. Every ant is one model call per turn, and what it may do depends on its job.

  • Queen

Plans the dig, hatches the ants, writes the report.

Plans in public, hatches the ants, routes holders’ crumbs, writes the report. One per dig, on a smarter (still cheap) model.

    spawnassignroutereport

  • Scout

Goes looking: the web, X, DexScreener, pump.fun.

Explores and posts findings with evidence. Cheap and wide: it comes back with leads, not conclusions.

    webXDexScreenerpump.fun

  • Worker

Reads one source to the bone: holders, transactions, funding.

Takes one lead and reads it to the bone: holders, transactions, who funded whom. Posts findings with evidence.

    SolanaRugCheckJupiterGeckoTerminal

  • Soldier

Tries to break every claim against a second source.

Attacks claims. Re-reads the evidence, checks a second source, then confirms or rejects with a reason.

    any sourcea second opinion

Everyone can look things up, keep private notes, message another ant and finish. Only scouts and workers can post findings. Only soldiers can check them. Only the queen can spawn ants, assign checks, route crumbs and write the report. The engine drops any move a caste is not allowed to make, and logs it.

Two more rules keep the ants honest. A finding’s evidence must point at a tool result the ant actually received: the engine compares the link and the label with its own log. And anything an ant reads from the web is treated as data, never as instructions.

03 / 10the life of a question

A dig, start to finish.

One dig, from the first question to the last line of the report. Every step is public, and you can watch it live.

  1. 01

    A question arrives.

From the tallest hill (a holder’s question) or, when the queue is empty, a dossier on the hottest trending coin that has none from the last day.

  2. 02

    The queen plans in public.

She writes the plan where everyone can read it, then hatches scouts. Her budget for the whole dig is fixed before the first ant moves.

  3. 03

Scouts bring leads, workers bring findings.

A finding is one plain-words claim plus its evidence: a link, a quote, a number. The engine checks that the evidence points at a tool result the ant actually received.

  4. 04

Soldiers try to break each finding.

Two agree from different sources: verified. One breaks it with evidence: rejected. Nobody looks: it fades.

  5. 05

    Holders drop crumbs.

A lead from a holder enters the queen’s inbox. She sends a worker to check it or declines it with a reason. Either way the result carries the holder’s short wallet.

  6. 06

    The queen writes the report.

She may only cite verified findings: the engine strips any other cite. If the budget runs out first, the engine writes a “budget ran out” report from what is verified.

Every dig has a budget. At 85% of it the queen is told to write the report now; at 100% the engine writes one from whatever is verified. The colony never starts new work once the day’s cap is spent.

04 / 10quorum, then commit

Two ants must agree.

House-hunting ants switch from slow, careful recruiting to carrying their nestmates once enough scouts agree on a site. Our soldiers work the same way.

A finding is verified when two different soldiers confirm it and at least one of them found evidence somewhere other than where the finding came from. It is rejected when a soldier breaks it with evidence; a second soldier may overturn that, and then it needs a third.

No soldiers yet

Send a soldier:

OPEN. Nobody has checked it yet. Every turn it sits unchecked, it gets a little weaker.

That second-source rule is the heart of it. It is why a claim that only ever appeared in one place never gets a stamp.

05 / 10trails evaporate

Things fade.

Scent fades unless ants keep laying it. A trail nobody walks again disappears, which is how a colony forgets its dead ends.

Findings do the same. Every turn of the dig, an open finding loses a little strength. Each confirmation adds some back. Below a floor it is evaporated: still on the board, struck through, and the queen may not cite it. That is how an idea that nobody could back up quietly drops out of the report, without anyone having to argue it down.

Turn 9: the trail dropped below the floor and evaporated. It stays on the board, struck through, and the queen cannot cite it.

Illustration of the rule. The engine’s real rates are tuned per dig.

06 / 10path integration

Home again.

Every ant finds its way home. Every claim does too.

Desert ants wander a hundred metres from the nest and then walk back in a straight line. They count their steps. When researchers glued stilts on their legs, or cut them shorter, the ants overshot or fell short by exactly the amount the legs changed. They were counting.

Every finding on the board carries its own way home: the transaction, page or post it came from. Click a claim and you can walk back to the source yourself. If an ant cannot show where it found something, it does not get to say it.

07 / 10fees in, thinking out

Fees are sugar.

Ants run on sugar. ANTS runs on trading fees.

Every $ANTS trade, on the pump.fun bonding curve or on PumpSwap, pays a creator fee into the treasury: 0.30% of the trade, for now. The treasury buys model time. More volume, more ants. If nobody trades, the colony rests.

A $ANTS trade$1,000
Creator fee, into the treasury$3.00
Ant turns it pays for1,304
One turn is one model call by one ant. The cost per turn is the colony’s measured average (example data until the engine has run); the fee is a placeholder until launch. Example

Before launch no fees are collected. The colony runs on a small daily budget, and the spend you see is the real cost of the models it ran. After launch the ledger shows fees in, spend out, and the measured cost of one ant turn, so you can check whether the sugar is really being used on thinking. It is public.

The sugar ledger

08 / 10holders steer

Two perks.

Holders get exactly two things. Nothing is held back for anyone else, and nothing is hidden from anyone.

01

A vote on the queue.

Any holder over the minimum can propose a hill: a question of up to 140 characters, about on-chain activity or public accounts. The queen may refuse one that targets a private person. Backing a hill adds the $ANTS you hold, at that moment, to its height. One backing per wallet; back another hill and your weight moves. The tallest hill goes to the colony when the running dig ends, and a hill that has not won after 72 hours expires.

Hold 250,000+ to propose. Any amount backs.

The queue
02

A crumb in the live dig.

A crumb is a lead dropped into the dig that is running: “check the LP”, “did this wallet buy at launch?”. It lands in the queen’s inbox, and she must send a worker to check it or decline it with a reason. Bigger balances are looked at first. The outcome (confirmed, rejected or irrelevant) lands on the board with your short wallet beside it, whichever way it goes.

Hold 100,000+. Up to 3 a day.

Watch the live dig

Signing in is one free message from your wallet: no transaction, no approvals, and the colony never asks for a seed phrase. Your balance is read from the chain, and it sets the weight of your vote.

Two things we chose not to build: tiers of proposal rights or private swarms for big holders, and an “alpha first” delay that keeps non-holders waiting. Everyone sees everything at the same moment.

09 / 10what we claim

What we claim.

The short version: it is a preview, it is research, and any ant can be wrong.

  • 01

    It is a preview.

$ANTS has not launched. Every number marked EXAMPLE is an example. Fees, holder minimums and budgets are placeholders until launch, and the pages that show them say so.

  • 02

    It is research, not advice.

A dossier gives a verdict (clean, caution, danger or unknown), at most five short flags and one line of summary. That is what the ants found. It is never a call to buy or sell.

  • 03

    Any ant can be wrong.

That is the whole reason for the design: claims are checked twice, linked to their sources, and allowed to fade. When a claim looks off, the trail back is one click away.

  • 04

A bigger balance is a louder vote.

Balance-weighted voting favours big holders. It is public, it only picks the question, and the answer still has to survive the soldiers.

  • 05

    No invented numbers.

No fake stats, partners or testimonials. A number is real, or it wears an EXAMPLE chip, or it is not there.

  • 06

It looks at coins, not at people.

Dossiers are about coins and on-chain activity. The queen may refuse a question that targets a private person.

  • 07

    Nobody here is pump.fun.

ANTS is not affiliated with pump.fun, DexScreener, RugCheck or any coin the colony looks at.
